Our goal at English Woodlands Forestry is to enable land owners to create and realise a vision for their woodlands. We know that this will result in woodlands that can provide the most significant public benefit by enhancing wildlife, timber and landscape values and thereby forming legacies that last.

Through our professional advice, planning and operational methods we aim to maximise the environmental sustainability of the woodlands that we create and manage.  We see ourselves as custodians of trees and woodlands - mindful of climate change, timber stocks, carbon sequestration and native flora and fauna. 

We started our business over 30 years ago. So today we offer a reputation built on experience and knowledge and we work with many estates across the south east of England.  That is knowledge not just about trees, ecology, woodlands and timber but also about  markets, opportunities and people.  Our relationships extend well beyond our clients to include a wide range of specialists and local stakeholders, regulatory bodies, partnership organisations and contractors.  We can capitalise on these long associations to help achieve the smallest or largest scale woodland projects – whatever the objective or level of complexity.

Our staff are all trained and professionally qualified and we continually learn, develop and expand.

Nurturing trees and woodlands requires time and we endeavour to build long-term relationships with our clients – learning to fully understand their needs and adapt when opportunities or circumstances change. We work with diverse landowners including farmers, private land owners, public bodies, local authorities and charities – all with differing and varied priorities.

Our ambition to help realise sustainable visions for woodlands has helped to make our business an end-to-end service:  from planning and planting new woodlands,  to management,  harvesting timber and restocking.

With direct access to forestry machinery and contractors we have complete control over the quality of our operations and total accountability for all timber products we harvest. 

Yet, despite the diversity of our clients and our services we are keenly focused on our core intent.  Our principal focus remains with trees and wooded environments;  by keeping true to this we believe we can maximise the potential, health and longevity of our clients’ woodlands.
