English Woodlands Forestry and prestigious Royal Forestry Society Award
Each year the Royal Forestry Society (RFS) run regional Excellence in Forestry awards in 5 different categories. This year they put the previous 5 first-prize winners head-to-head in a ‘Best of the Best’ national competition.
Further to winning first prize in the ‘Excellence in Silviculture’ category in 2019 English Woodlands Forestry is thrilled to announce that the ‘Best of the Best’ award has gone to Shere Manor Estate whose woodlands we have been managing for over 15 years.
The judging panel were particularly impressed by the conversion of the estate to continual cover forestry, the sensitive hand thinning of broadleaves, the use of grants to enhance the woodland and the handling of constraints around protected species and recreational use of the estate.

It is a pleasure to have long-term relationships with our clients that enable us to enhance their woodlands over time and we feel privileged and grateful to be associated with this prestigious award.
