English Woodlands Forestry is delighted to start 2022 with a launch of a fresh new website

We have created the site with photographer and designer Stuart Mack to provide an exciting new presentation of our business. This is just one part in a journey of our development that has been taking place over the last few years.

‘The care of the Earth is our most ancient, most worthy and most pleasing responsibility’.  Wendell Berry, poet.

In 2018 we entered into a dynamic new business partnership with Powell Forestry forming the umbrella group of Land & Forest.  Powell have specialised in harvesting and marketing of timber for over 30 years.  Our partnership means we can obtain the best price for timber and account for every load of log, chip or firewood (for instance  see the case study on Silviculture & Harvesting on our website).

Over the last two years we have also been delighted to welcome Alison Field and Laura Henderson to our team.  Both Alison and Laura are ex employees of the Forestry Commission and bring a wealth of experience to enhance our existing team of dedicated and professional foresters - see our team page for more details.

With government commitments to plant 10,000 ha of trees per annum in England, buoyant timber markets and new land management grants supporting biodiversity and natural capital around the corner we have never experienced such a positive time to be working in forestry.

We remain grateful to work with a wide range of existing clients on estates of all sizes and types.  And we look forward to working with more woodland owners and managers long into the future – planting, harvesting and nurturing our woodland legacies.

Special thanks are due to Clive Nickols of Isenhurst Estate Sussex for permission to use the Estate as the location for much of the photography on the new website.
